Brain Reprogramming Emulation Technology

Brain Reprogramming Emulation Technology (BRET) is a pioneering strategic rehearsal tool for business. The heart of the method is a fast paced emulation of the client’s real world assets and processes. Cross-silo employees of the client organisation use the simulation to perform their tasks in a high pressure time accelerated environment. The resulting experience transforms their thinking, decision making patterns and behaviour in the real world.

More than 8000 people have been through these exercises in more than 30 companies and there has never been a group who did not exhibit marked performance improvements along targeted goals.

BRET is designed to help organisations achieve better results than with traditional Change Management. It is an effective way to implement change quickly and permanently – words that are not traditionally associated with Change Management.

BRET was developed by Too Serious. Onirik is a distributor for Too Serious within Australia.

How BRET Works

BRET exercises can be compared to flight simulators, where pilots must constantly adjust their reactions (decision making and behaviour) to events to fly the plane on course without crashing it. When trying a simulator for a new model of plane, even experienced pilots will crash the first few times, as they adjust to the new plane. Similarly, BRET participants go through exercises twice. The first time they “crash” their companies and they "fly on course" on the second try.

BRET is a structured multiplayer exercise designed to prepare a team of managers and employees to achieve new outcomes or to address challenges confronting them. In particular, it re-engineers the thinking of the participants so that they develop demonstrable productive changes in decision making and behaviours. This mental re-engineering leads to marked improvements in the way that work gets done and challenges are addressed.

The design of a BRET is based on the principle that most learning is actually a process of ‘unlearning’ prior decision making patterns (i.e. frameworks and neural pathways) while retaining relevant content knowledge (i.e. industry and situational familiarity, facts and information). This enables content knowledge to be redeployed into new thinking patterns that are more adapted to current challenges, and provide a generative expansion of the decision making framework.

The BRET exercise presents a scenario that is an isomorphic match to commercial reality. It is designed to activate the ‘default’ thinking patterns, that can be compared to a kind of cognitive ‘autopilot’, and to show the participants how their default frameworks are not adequate for solving the problems necessary for achieving a non-negotiable business goal. Failure in these simulation conditions triggers a process of cognitive ‘disequilibrium’, which the brain automatically resolves by spontaneously generating new approaches to solving the problem. BRET creates a sequence of repeated decisions, rapid failures with almost immediate feedback which quickly generates new fully adapted ‘default’ decision making patterns, even among resistant participants. Participants often report major 'Aha!' 'Eureka!' type insights during the process.

How Onirik Can Help Managers

BRET provides a ‘safe’ environment in which to rehearse strategies to address current challenges or crises or to anticipate future uncertainties. By targeting dysfunctional cognitive patterns around ‘business as usual’ BRET has delivered dramatic financial turnarounds for companies on the edge of failure.

BRET is a system for organisations to drive high velocity and lasting change to maximise commercial results. It is based on decades of academic research and business scrutiny. Recent research on brain plasticity in Neuroscience show that it is possible to reprogram one’s habits in the span of a sleep cycle. BRET leverages this science to create a change tool (in place of traditional training) that works literally overnight.

BRET deals with human behaviour - specifically resistance to change - in an industrial and commercial setting.

What Results Managers Achieve

How do you unite a disparate group of employees to work together for their future when none believe they can or should work together? Do you feel like Laurence of Arabia - you’ve got to unite the Arab tribes as one, cross the seemingly impassable Nefud desert, and then win Aqaba from the Turks?

When you choose Onirik, we can guarantee that if you implement the BRET System as recommended by us, you will get across the desert and reach your goal. You will see an immediate and sustainable quantum leap in your chosen performance measure.
