The race to hydrogen discovery

The global energy landscape is shifting towards clean and sustainable solutions. Hydrogen, the most abundant element, holds immense potential as a clean fuel source. However, exploration for commercially viable hydrogen reserves is experiencing many challenges.

Limited reservoir knowledge

Our understanding of where hydrogen accrues underground is limited. Traditional exploration methods often struggle to identify these formations.

Deeply buried reserves

Promising hydrogen deposits often reside at great depths, making exploration and extraction technically complex and expensive.

High exploration costs

The current hydrogen exploration process is both resource-intensive and time-consuming, hindering discovery efforts.

A way to accelerate discovery

Our exploration partner, CTAC, has employed their advanced technology to successfully uncover hidden energy resources. We believe CTAC's expertise in hydrocarbon discovery using its Oil & Gas Finder Technology (OFT) can be applied to the unique challenges of hydrogen exploration and will identify and characterise hydrogen-rich reservoirs.

What sets HFT apart

As its moving from early-adoption to main-stream use, CTAC's game-changing electromagnetic technology has been transforming mineral, water, and hydrocarbon exploration. Now, they're applying this expertise to geologic hydrogen discovery. Hydrogen Finder Technology (HFT) will identify the types of gases present in a hydrogen reservoir plus determine temperature and pressure to allow you to distinguish between biogenic, abiogenic or mixed reservoirs. By providing this valuable information, HFT will significantly speed up the transition to clean energy.

Precise subsurface imaging

HFT will leverage developments in science for pinpointing and characterising hydrogen-bearing formations with unparalleled confidence.

Cost-effective exploration

HFT will greatly reduce time-to-target  and overall exploration costs, making hydrogen discovery more accessible and efficient.

Environmental approach

HFT promotes a sustainable exploration process, with zero environmental impact and eliminating the need for environmental permits.

The science powering HFT

HFT combines various scientific principles, including electromagnetic polarisation and resonance. And when analysing anomalies and patterns in the Earth's electromagnetic field, HFT can identify resource fingerprints below the Earth's surface; map geological features, specific elements and compounds plus characterise the nature of resources and, for liquids and gases, estimate temperature and pressure.  Additionally, unlike other methods, HFT doesn't transmit energy, ensuring accurate results at depth.

One of CTAC's clients compared HFT to advancements in medical imaging, highlighting its capability to improve exploration outcomes.
